I led the end-to-end UI design for Dino’s landing page and web app interface, marking my first significant role in a commercial, cross-functional project. In collaboration with the product and engineering teams, I iterated on high-fidelity prototypes and managed a comprehensive design system that balanced user needs with technical requirements.

Problem

  • Lack of a centralized and discoverable Web3 event ecosystem.

There was no efficient platform to aggregate major event series, making it difficult for organizers and participants to discover, track, and engage with events across the ecosystem. This led to low visibility and missed opportunities for broader participation.

  • Fragmented and unintuitive event management workflows.

Organizers and attendees relied on scattered spreadsheets that were neither comprehensive nor user-friendly, resulting in inefficient coordination and a poor overall user experience.

  • Underutilization of Web3-native engagement tools.

Event hosts were not leveraging technologies like NFTs for community building and identity verification, limiting opportunities for deeper engagement, continuity, and more meaningful connections between participants.

Research question

How might we design a Web3-native event platform that not only centralizes discovery but also encourages long term engagement between hosts and attendees?

Branding Design

The Dino logo was developed with a contractor, combining a bird-like mascot that references the link between birds and dinosaurs and the idea of migration, with the name “Dino,” derived from “digital nomads.” I added gradient colors to enrich the visual identity and create more depth.

Results

The MVP website was successfully deployed in August 2023, six months after I joined Dino and began the design process. Close collaboration between the design, product, and engineering teams ensured seamless integration of design features, which allowed us to deploy on schedule. The key features I implemented helped boost platform traffic to over 5,000 visits, with more than 1,000 registered users in the first year. The site was actively maintained until the end of 2023, when the team pivoted to a new direction and shut down the platform.

Additionally, I created graphics and illustrations for promotional materials used at major events, including the Stanford Blockchain Conference (“Ignite Stanford”) and the NFT NYC gathering {“Skytop”). These materials, such as social media thumbnails, event posters, and panel discussion backdrops, contributed to strong brand presence and successful event engagement, with around 800 guests registering for events through Dino.
